On their return to Earth from the International Space Station, (ISS), NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei was joined by Russian cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov & Pyotr Dubrov in a capsule.
As he completed his second ISS mission, Mr Vande Hei set a US record for space endurance of 355 consecutive orbital days.
This was Mr Dubrov’s first space flight. Mr Shkaplerov was finishing his rotation as the latest ISS Commander. He had accumulated 708 space days.
Concern has been expressed that tensions over Ukraine’s war could have an effect on long-term cooperation between Russia and America on the ISS.
