Peru inflation: Civilians and police clash in Peru protests

As oil, gas, and toll road prices rise, protests are taking place in Peru.

In response to rising inflation to 26-year highs, Monday saw a nationwide strike in the country.

Protesters set up roadblocks with burning tires and torched toll booths in Ica.

Some demonstrators were detained after clashes with police. According to the government, it has taken measures to reduce rising fuel prices including subsidies.
