CMG hosts special event in Munich to celebrate China-Germany ties

China Media Group (CMG) hosted a significant cultural exchange event in Munich on Friday to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the all-round strategic partnership between China and Germany.

Friday also marked the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Multiple cooperation projects in the media, film and television sectors were launched on the same day, including a new program inviting international youth to undertake regular research visits to China, the release of a jointly produced documentary film and video collaboration projects.

Representatives from CMG, the Chinese Embassy in Germany and government officials from the German state of Bavaria attended the event.

Xing Bo, vice president of CMG, stated that CMG is willing to work hand-in-hand with friends from all walks of life in Germany to open up new chapters, acting as a promoter of China-Germany’s prosperous development and sharing the opportunities brought about by China’s further comprehensive deepening of reforms. Xing also expressed CMG’s willingness to deepen cooperation in joint productions, media events and technological innovation so that audiences in both countries, especially the Generation Z audience, can share the beauty of Chinese and German cultures.

Franz Josef Pschierer, former Bavarian State Minister of Economic Affairs, Energy and Technology, stated that many Bavarian companies have actively invested in China and benefited immensely from the mutual growth. The Bavarian business community is committed to eliminating trade barriers and promoting fair competition and cooperation, he added.

Armin Schwimmbeck, director of the Foreign Economic Cooperation Bureau of the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, pointed out that China has been Bavaria’s largest trading partner for seven consecutive years. China’s importance to Bavaria extends far beyond economics, encompassing multiple dimensions, he added. Bavaria is committed to developing close and sincere cooperation with China and firmly opposes protectionism, stressed Schwimmbeck, who expressed confidence that the face-to-face exchange and discussions will further enhance cooperation and mutual trust between China and Germany.
