The Ukrainian mother who had to bury her own son

After Russia was accused of war crimes, the UN Secretary General called for an independent investigation into civilian deaths in Ukraine.

After the Russians’ retreat, Ukrainian forces entered areas near the capital Kyiv and found hundreds of bodies and graves in Bucha.

The BBC has captured bodies of civilians on the streets, some bound with their feet and others with their hands tied. Russia claims images of civilian deaths are fake.

Jeremy Bowen, BBC’s Jeremy Bowen, met a mother in Kyiv who was grieving after her son was killed by Russian soldiers.
