The CEIP Piemonte (Centro Estero per l’Internazionalizzazione) is the leading entity for the internationalization of the Piedmontese economic system. Promoted by Regione Piemonte, Unioncamere Piemonte, and the regional Chambers of Commerce, it represents a model of public-institutional governance that works in synergy to support the competitiveness of local businesses in global markets.

Considered a strategic tool for regional industrial policy, CEIP plays a crucial role in enhancing local excellence in key Made in Italy sectors, such as agri-food, automotive, aerospace, mechatronics, and design. The organisation acts as a bridge between Piedmontese companies and international networks, facilitating access to European projects, multilateral cooperation programs, and collaborations with foreign entities, institutions, and technology clusters.
After the pandemic, CEIP swiftly adapted to the evolving global landscape by strengthening digital tools and introducing services such as online matchmaking, webinars, and remote support, ensuring continuity in internationalisation efforts even during critical periods.
A strategic mission for global expansion
CEIP’s primary mission is to support Piedmontese companies in expanding into foreign markets, offering strategic services ranging from international promotion to export consulting, contractual and tax advisory, innovation, and digitalisation. In recent years, the organisation has further refined its approach, with a growing focus on innovative, green-tech, and sustainable enterprises, in alignment with emerging global challenges and market trends.
By participating in trade fairs, B2B events, business missions, and strategic market entry programs, including those beyond Europe, CEIP continues to be a key player in the international development of Piedmont’s business ecosystem.
Leadership and Strategic Focus
Dario Peirone has been the President of CEIP Piemonte since 2016. With extensive experience in internationalization support, he also serves as President of the Special Agency for Internationalization of the Turin Chamber of Commerce and has played key roles in multiple international promotion initiatives.
Under his leadership, CEIP has prioritized innovation, sustainability, and investment attraction, strengthening Piedmont’s position as a dynamic and competitive international hub.
Piedmont and Turin are among Europe’s best
The Piedmont Region and the City of Turin were recognized by the Financial Times in the prestigious “European Cities and Regions of the Future Ranking Awards”. Piedmont ranked sixth among “Large European Regions” for foreign investment attraction strategy, while Turin debuted in the top ten of large European cities, securing sixth place in the same category.
This recognition comes at a moment of strong momentum for the region: in 2024 alone, 27 new foreign direct investment (FDI) projects were recorded, marking the best result in the past 20 years, with a potential investment value exceeding €4 billion in the coming years.
Piedmont is solidifying its reputation as one of Europe’s most dynamic and attractive regions for international investments, particularly at MIPIM Cannes—the premier global real estate event, taking place from March 11 to 14. Every year, this event gathers industry professionals, investors, developers, and public administrations, showcasing innovative urban development projects and fostering global networking and collaboration opportunities.
Real Estate as a strategic investment sector
“The real estate sector remains a strategic area for attracting investments to Piedmont, accounting for over 17% of the cases identified by our team. At MIPIM, we are presenting a concrete investment offer: over 7 million square meters of land and properties, 55 mapped opportunities, and 21 companies from our Cleantech & Green Building PIF ready to showcase their sustainable solutions.
In just the past two years, we have supported 230 investment projects and established a global network spanning over 110 countries, with 50 international references already implemented. The growth of FDI in Piedmont—from an annual average of 7 projects between 2014 and 2020 to 27 in 2024—demonstrates that our strategy is delivering tangible results.
MIPIM is the perfect showcase to highlight this progress and continue strengthening the international positioning of our region.”
This was stated by Dario Peirone, President of CEIP Piemonte.
